Artist Bio

Catlin Cobb has performed and choreographed since 1980 for her company, theater, and film/video projects. She toured as a soloist for seven years throughout rural parts of the United States, where she developed an interest in sharing dance with unlikely audiences in unlikely places. Her choreography has been commissioned and produced by theaters in New York City, the American Dance Festival, and small repertory dance companies in the United States, and has also been presented in several European countries, Japan, Jordan, and Tunisia. She has been supported by various grants, including fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, Art Matters, and a Fulbright Fellowship to the Theater Academy of Helsinki, Finland. As an educator, Ms. Cobb continues to teach to students of all ages and walks of life, with a focus on movement as a compelling, joyous, and accessible activity.
