Artist Bio

Patricia Flynn has toured the country as an actress; stage managed regionally, Off Broadway, and in London’s West End; and been a director and actress at the National Improvisational Theatre in NYC. A teaching artist with the Institute for Arts and Humanities Education for over twenty years, in 2005 she received the Governor’s Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts, and has been listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. She is also a two-time recipient of a Folk Arts grant in Irish set dancing from the NJ State Council on the Arts.

Ms. Flynn has directed and conducted workshops with young artists in Nigeria, Israel, Ireland, England, and Bolivia. In 2005 she directed an international company of young actors in a production at the Benedictine Youth Congress held in Meschede, Germany. In August 2007 she brought a production of Macbeth to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. Currently a teaching artist with Young Audiences NJ & Eastern PA, Ms. Flynn is also on the faculty of St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark, NJ. She has an M.F.A. in acting from the Catholic University of America and studied voice with Benjamin De Loache at the Yale School of Music.
