Artist Bio

TAHIRA is a storyteller, poet, vocalist, and percussionist with a bachelor’s degree from Temple University’s School of Communication and Theatre. Whether performing her original works or her vast repertoire of stories from the African oral tradition, she brings to her audience messages of courage, hope, and triumph.

Blending, song, poetry, and story, TAHIRA’s high-energy performances delight listeners of all ages. Since becoming a full-time performing artist in 1996 she has performed in more than 100 cities throughout the country, appearing at schools, libraries, national conferences, performing arts centers, colleges, and community and senior centers.
