Artists-in-Education ConsortiumThe Artists in Education (AIE) Residency Grant Program is a unique partnership bringing dynamic, in-depth arts education programs to New Jersey’s schools and teaching artists. Since 1971, the AIE Program has been dedicated to bringing teaching artists and educators together in powerful, long-term residencies to help students and teachers engage in and learn about the creative process. AIE places practicing professional artists in long-term residencies (20+ days) in schools across the state. Residencies are offered in all arts disciplines including the visual, literary, and performing arts and at all grade levels.

Apply for one of our grants and experience how an AIE residency can help your school and district fulfill its goals and objectives for student performance, professional development, and community building in and through the arts. An invaluable arts experience that can help prepare your students for the competitive world of the 21st century is within reach.

Our school-day residencies honor the creative process by providing conditions needed for insight, imagination, and empathy to occur. Lasting impact is re-enforced through professional development of teachers. For more than 43 years, AIE has provided hundreds of thousands of New Jersey’s children and educators the opportunity to enrich the world around them in and through the arts.

The Artists in Education Residency Grant Program is a great opportunity for schools to:

  • Access up to $10,000 for long-term school arts residencies
  • Impact curriculum
  • Expand the arts experiences of students and teachers
  • Provide effective teacher professional development in the arts
  • Work together with a teaching artist to create long-term impact on your school and community through the arts

ALL New Jersey Public, Charter, Private, and Parochial Schools serving grades Pre-K through 12th are eligible to apply. Grant program guidelines and application are available at www.njaie.org and technical assistance is available for applicants. Questions?
